Treasurer Steve Batey takes on the challenge
1 November 2025

For some fans, the tradition of the match day ritual has expanded to include a parkrun in the morning.
Our CUSCLB treasurer, Steve Batey, is in the World’s top 10 for number of 'alphabets' achieved in a Parkrun.
As I type he is on eight, and he has also recently completed over 300 parkruns, which we celebrated by dressing up as Centurions.
Click HERE to read more on that.
In October he drove me to Hannover in Germany to run their Unity Day special event on a Friday.
We were encouraged to wear the colours of the flag, so our Carlisle fruit salads fitted in well.
Before Yeovil he ran nearby and, before Reading, we ran Prospect Park.
Where others will be wanting a big club in the next round, for Steve and I it will be all about which parkrun fits in with his agenda too!
Although humble, I want the club to recognise what an ongoing and fantastic achievement all of this is.
Cheers, Jugsy
