Branch donates to important appeal
5 March 2025

The London Branch have this week donated £1,000 to the Carlisle United Supporters’ Trust fundraising drive which aims to buy four brand new defibrillators for Brunton Park.

There is currently one defibrillator on site – adjacent to the Neil Sports Centre entrance – with the installation of the further units set to make the stadium one of the safest in the country.

The fundraising initiative, spearheaded by the Carlisle United Supporters’ Trust and in association with St John Ambulance, has a target of £5,112 to cover the costs of the defibrillators, complete with secure cabinets.

Branch chairman Dave Brown said: “We were delighted that we were able to donate £1,000 to the appeal set up by the Supporters' Trust.

“There is no question that having defibrillators nearby will save lives in the seasons ahead.”

Trust chair Dan MacLennan said: "The Supporters’ Trust is delighted to be launching our defibrillator appeal.

"Ensuring the entirety of Brunton Park has defibrillator coverage by purchasing four new devices to complement the one currently in-situ is something we can all agree is a worthwhile cause.

"These devices can literally be the difference between life and death and having several at strategic points around the ground can only be a good thing.

"Please take a minute to read the various social media posts we have coming in the next few weeks, it could just help save a life.

"We’d like to thank in advance everybody who contributes to this appeal!"
