There is no organised London branch group travel this year but a few members will be meeting in the Airfield Tavern before the game. Yeovil have just announced a ticket promotion for the game. All under 16s can get in for £1!
Meeting Place
The Airfield Tavern, Alvington Lane, Brimpton, Yeovil, BA22 8TH
Part of the Table Table pub group, the Airfield Tavern is a family friendly pub with decent well priced food and usually a couple of good real ales. Unfortunately it’s a typically bland and charmless chain boozer with next to no character or atmosphere.
Other Boozers and Food Outlets Worth a Visit
The excellent Yeovil Town fan site Cider Space is one of the best resources available for recommending good pubs close to football league grounds. Unfortunately despite being highly adept at directing us to quality pubs around the country Yeovil fans are unable to direct us to anywhere worthwhile in the vicinity of Huish Park. While the locals are a really friendly bunch, highly unlikely to give you any bother the pre match drinking options are limited. There are a couple of other pubs within walking distance of the ground; both are in the same vein as the Airfield but even less good.
The Bell Inn, 207 Preston Rd, Yeovil, Somerset BA20 2EW, 01935 474077
A Green King Hungry Horse outlet designed to appeal to families and those looking for cheap burgers. A bit like little chef with crap beer.
The Arrow, The Forum, Preston, Yeovil, Somerset BA21 3TL, 01935 476972
Another family friendly soulless boozer on a retail park. It does have a pool table though.
Food wise the usual array of pies and burgers are available inside the ground though the queues can be a bit on the long side. There are a couple of takeaways near to Huish Park that get reasonably good reviews.
Preston Road Takeaway, 174 Preston Rd, Yeovil, Somerset, BA20 2EL, 01935 428587
Palmers Fish & Chips, Bunford Lane, Yeovil, Somerset, BA20 2EJ, 01935 434258

How To Get There
By Train
Yeovil has two railway stations, neither of which are remotely convenient if you are going to the football. Yeovil Junction is 2-3 miles out of town and Yeovil Pen Mill is about a mile from the centre. Both are on the opposite side of town to the ground. From both stations it is advised to get a taxi to the stadium or alternatively if you arrive at Yeovil Junction, then you can catch the ‘Hopper’ minibus to the bus station in the town centre. On Saturday match days there is one shuttle bus that runs from the station to the ground which leaves the bus station at around 1.50pm, returning from Huish Park at 17:05. Group save tickets are available on the Waterloo – Yeovil Junction route with 4 for 2 tickets costing around £25 each. Details of group train travel will be announced nearer the time.

When Have We Played There Before?
Last season our scheduled game at Huish Park was called off due to most of Britain being under 3 foot of snow. When the match was rearranged for March, Carlisle kept to form and lost 1-0. In our 6 visits to Yeovil we’ve lost 5 times. Our only point at the Glovers came courtesy of a last minute 18 yard equaliser from one time club legend Michael Bridges.
