Meeting Places

From 12 Noon

The Market Porter, 9 Stoney Street, Borough Market, London, SE1 9AA Tel: 020 7407 2495

One of the best real ale pubs in the capital and indeed the country. The beer range is excellent and ever changing. The downside is that it tends to be very busy and getting a seat is generally impossible. In warmer months this doesn’t pose a problem as drinkers tend to congregate outside on the pavement watching the world go by. There is a restaurant up stairs though if you’re looking for scran there are plenty of options round Borough Market and the surrounding area. After a few ales and a spot of posh scran off the Borough Market we will head off on the tube towards Dagenham.

From 2pm

Dagenham and Redbridge Social Club
Situated at the ground, away fan friendly, the real ale is Youngs Bitter but it costs 50p to get in. The supporters’ football teams will be congregating here post match and non players will probably arrive around 2pm. Match tickets will be distributed at both venues.

Other Boozers and Food Outlets Worth a Visit

To be honest there isn’t a right lot. Your best bet is central London hence the use of the Market Porter. There are a fast food places near the ground and if you fancy a bit of traditional East End fare there is The Brook Pie and Mash shop on Dagenham Road.

What's the Ground Like?

Victoria Road is an old school ground with seating along two sides of the stadium and terraces on the other two. Interestingly enough the by far the most modern stand is given to away fans who are housed in the Marcus James Stand behind the goal. It’s raised above pitch level and has no supporting pillars to obstruct the view. Behind the other goal is the Bury Road End a small uncovered terrace which has a small scoreboard above it. Either side of the pitch is the Carling seated stand and the North Terrace, both of which are covered. Decent scran and alcohol are available inside the ground.

How To Get There

By Train

Dagenham East on the District line is a five minute walk from the ground. Come out the station on Rainham Road and do a left, Victoria Road is the fifth street on the left.

By Car & Where To Park

One thing Dagenham does have going for it is car parking both in the official car park and on the streets nearby. For directions to drive to Victoria Road please click here.

When Have We Been There Before?

The only previous time we have played at Victoria Road was during the conference season back in February 2005. We lost 1-0 in what was a dark period for the club which saw us slip into mid table while the city recovered from the floods. Thankfully our form improved and about 3 months later Peter Murphy scored the goal that took the Cumbrians back into the football league.
