VHTB - 26/04/09
26/04/09 09:31
It was the same old story at Whaddon Road yesterday - take the lead, miss chances and then conceed a late equaliser. There is still hope and there was plenty of effort.
Millwall/Awards Dinner Weekend
All attendees should have received a message this week. If you have any queries I will answer them when I am back from a trip on wednesday.
A supporters match has been arranged for sunday morning on the Brunton Park training pitch. Our team to play the Norwegian supporters branch is bolstered by Jimmy Glass. Contact Chris Tembey at football@carlislelondonbranch.org for more details.
Player of year/Champagne moment
Our Player of the year was Cleveland Taylor.
The Juniors Champagne moment was Michael Bridges goal v Yeovil
Both will be presented at the Awards Dinner.
John Nixon Interview
Dave Brown will be interviewing John Nixon for the next issue of HTB. Please send any questions you would like to be asked to him at editor@carlislelondonbranch.org. The deadline is 5pm wednesday.
Blue Season Book
Neil Nixon is working on another Blueseason book covering the present league season. One thing he would like to add this time is a section with fan comments. He needs about a dozen dedicated fans to make some comments in the following categories:
Player of the season:
Best thing about this season:
Worst thing about this season:
If you could change one thing for next season, what would it be?
He will credit everyone whose responses appear in the book. Please send the answers directly to Neil Nixon on Facebook or e-mail them to nlnxn@aol.com.
Theatre Trip
Tony Little is arranging another one of the popular theatre & meal trips, that work out at exceptional value. There are several choices for the evening of thursday 14th May. Please contact him ASAP to register your interest social@carlislelondonbranch.org.
Hit The Bar!
The next issue of Hit The Bar comes out in mid May by which time our fate will be well and truly sealed.During these next few weeks we are likely to be hitting all kinds of highs and lows and the emotions will be running high.
The Editor, Dave Brown is keen to capture some of these raw emotions for Hit The Bar. So why not when you come back from a match, the pub or from surfing the internet full of ire or joy and e mail, text or write your feelings - don't worry about the spelling , grammar or if it makes sense. If it looks totally barmy Dave will call you before he publishes.
Send in those raw emotions to 07977 464060 (preferably text), editor@carlislelondonbranch.org or write down your ire (its good for the soul) and post to Park House, 191 Stafford Road, Wallington SM6 9BT before you re-read it. MMS your picture from the mobile phone so we can get a picture of your anguish - again too bad and I will call you to offer you the chance to scrap it.
Looking forward to some real football moments.
