VHTB - 21/12/08

The good news is that our Branch membership reached a milestone this week with Charlie Burgess getting the prestigious honour of being the 300th member. Now onto the bad. The supporters team lost out in a tight, hard fought game, but at least they scored in a 3-1 defeat ( a net buster from Dave Batey ). We played in white and passes were picked out all day. This was in contrast to the game at Sixfields where I'm convinced that the black shirts are doing us no favours.

Do you know that the London Branch are proud sponsors of extended highlights on the world subscription service and that 65% of the subscription fee goes to Carlisle United ?

Nice One Skip Competition - Correction

There is a slight change to the great competition in Hit The Bar! to win a signed copy of Andy Hall’s Nice One Skip – the story of Peter McConnell’s footballing life as Carlisle’s longest serving skipper who previously spend many years at Leeds.Unfortunately Stan Ternent and Hugh McIlmoyle weren’t available to add their autographs so the book is signed by: Carlisle Players Peter McConnell, George McVitie, Mick Tait, Tom Clarke (70-75) and Leeds players Peter Lorimer and Eddie Gray.

The competition is easy to enter: 1. Visit the branch website: www.carlislelondonbranch.org 2. Find out the exact date that the London Branch was founded 3.
