VHTB - 15/11/10
Following the midweek win against Crewe in the JPT we are three games from Wembley with another home draw against Sheff Wed on Tuesday 30th November. That will be 7 home games in a month - I wonder if that's a record ?
Hit The Bar!
We need opposition Views for Geoff Graham editor@carlislelondonbranch.org for Leyton Orient and Yeovil. Also a general request for football/sports/carlisle jokes, interesting facts etc for filler boxes.
Ian Jardine is doing an article about the Branch football team and we are asking for any photographs that members have that they could scan or loan Geoff to compliment it. Geoff is looking particularly for good quality stuff from the v early and early days. Then we can have a Where are they now? article for guys we've lost touch with.
Please note that the deadline for HTB contributions and match reports is now upon us and anyone interested should get their articles to Geoff before Thursday.
Are you stuck about what to buy your Carlisle United loving nearest and dearest for Christmas ?
This flyer and order form may provide some perfect options. Please note some items are of limited stock, so order early to avoid disappointment.

Orient will try to get a ref but we suspect it will be like previous years and down to a sub/any willing soul. (Obviously if there are any budding refs out there, please don’t hesitate to contact us ! )
White kit as normal (currently with Dave Batey)
The nearest tube station is Walthamstow Central where players needing lifts need to meet at 9.45am to be collected by those driving.

Summer Trip
An update from Mike Carruthers - summertrip@carlislelondonbranch.org
" The shortlist for the summer trip was discussed at the October branch meeting. I'm grateful to Nigel Moss, Dave Brown and Al Millington for carrying out research into travel options. We have concluded that from the original shortlist La Rochelle and Bilbao are not feasible.
La Rochelle - Flights were available this year to LaRochelle and are likely to be next year but prices and schedules won't be released until the New Year. Similarly rail travel will be available but again prices will not be available until New Year. It was felt that this was to uncertain to proceed with.
Bilbao - Flights are available but not on Fridays or Mondays so this would only be feasible if we were to change the trip departure date to either Thu - Sun or Sat - Tue.
Caen - There is a ferry option from Portsmouth which at present would cost approx £60 - £70 return as a foot passenger. There is also the rail option. We will retain Caen as an option.
One of the suggestions was that we should have at least one option that had good flight options from provincial airports. Berlin was raised last year and we have decided to add this as it does have excellent flight options. It is,surprisingly reasonably cheap for Germany.
The final addition is Ljubljana in Slovenia. There are cheap flights available from Stansted. Ljubljana is very much an up and coming destination it is fairly close to the Italian border and offers the opportunity for trips to Lake Bled/Julian Alps.
So the final shortlist is
Caen
Berlin
Ljubljana
The choice of departure dates are
Friday 10th June
Friday 17th June
Please let me have your votes for:
Destination
1st Preference
2nd Preference
3rd Preference
(2nd & 3rd preferences are optional)
Choice of date (choose one of the above)
Votes have now been received from most of the regular summer trip participants. As the next branch meeting will now take place on Thursday 18th November I am bringing forward the deadline for votes to 1200 Monday 15th November with the result to be announced at the meeting the following Thursday."
