100 Years at Brunton Park
We have been asked to write an article for a celebratory magazine entitled "100 years of Brunton Park". Mike Carruthers has agreed to produce the article but if anybody has any Brunton Park stories/memories that they would like to share please email Mike at carruthers29@btinternet.com by Wednesday 5th August. Please also confirm if you are happy for your name to be put against your contribution, if it is included in the article. If anybody has any old photographs these would also be welcome.
Teamcard
All renewing Branch members will receive a CUFC team card. Teamcard is the official membership and loyalty card of CUFC. It provides a comprehensive reward scheme that offers fans the chance to shop at selected local retailers, online and at the Blues store, earning points that can be redeemed against the purchase of CUFC merchandise, match tickets and season tickets. With the previous membership benefits such as priority on tickets remaining, the Teamcard is a winner all round as the club benefit by also receiving additional revenue from the retailers.
On 1st August, last seasons Blue Army reward Points will be added to the Teamcard. The London Branch are proposing that all loyalty points are pooled and used to purchase kit for the Youth team. I have met with the coach Eric Kinder and he was very receptive to this idea.
** Please let Simon Clarkson know at chairman@carlislelondonbranch.org if you would prefer not to pool your points **
Centenary Raffle
The London Branch will be selling raffle tickets for the Centenary Raffle with a first prize of £1909 and dozens of other donated prizes. Tickets priced £1 each will be available in person at the Millwall and Orient games or by sending a cheque payable to Carlisle United Football Club to Simon Clarkson at 11 Cedar Road, Sutton, Surrey SM2 5DA. The draw is on 5th September.
Simon’s Triathlon
I am doing a triathlon on 6th September at Dorney Lake to raise funds for the Emily Ash Trust www.emilyashtrust.com Those of you that know me well, will recognise that this event will be a big challenge given it is a long time since I swum or rode a bike !
Cancer and leukaemia will affect most people during the lives. The purpose of the Emily Ash Trust is to help improve the lives of children by both helping them directly and improving the lifestyle of the family unit or guardians who are supporting a child. Respite care such as mini breaks or purchases of specific equipment can make a significant difference to the quality of life within the family.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the Emily Ash Trust and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
It's easy to donate online by credit or debit card - just go to my Justgiving page:
http://www.justgiving.com/Simon-Clarkson
This automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you're a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more. I hope you'll join me in supporting The Emily Ash Trust.
Thank you
Simon Clarkson
NB I am on holiday from 2-13th August where I hope to use the chance to get in some warm weather training!
